You are involved in an accident. You should:
- Stop immediately.
- Help the injured.
- Call the police.
- All of the above. ✓
Answer: D. All of the above.
All of the above: stop immediately, help the injured, and call the police.
Why this is the answer
Texas rules say that when a crash causes injury or death, you must stop at the scene or as close as possible without blocking traffic more than needed. You also must give reasonable assistance to injured people, including arranging transport to a doctor or hospital when treatment seems necessary or is requested. The handbook's crash chapter adds that you should send for skilled help quickly and call a doctor or ambulance. Calling the police fits the bank's all-of-the-above answer, though these passages do not name police specifically.
Why the other answers are wrong
- A. Stop immediately. — Stopping immediately is required, but by itself it leaves out helping the injured and calling for help.
- B. Help the injured. — Helping the injured matters, but it is only one part of what you should do after a crash.
- C. Call the police. — Calling the police is one useful step, but it does not cover stopping and helping injured people.
Remember it
After a crash, think three steps: stop, help, and call for help.
