This sign means?
- You are entering a playground area
- You are coming to a school zone ✓
- You are entering a playground zone
- Watch for pedestrians
Answer: B. You are coming to a school zone
The sign means you are coming to a school zone.
Why this is the answer
The handbook says a school zone sign warns that you are coming to a school zone. It tells you to slow down, drive with extra caution and watch for children. That matches the answer about a school zone, not a playground or a general pedestrian warning.
Why the other answers are wrong
- A. You are entering a playground area — The handbook describes this sign as warning of a school zone, not as marking a playground area.
- C. You are entering a playground zone — The handbook describes this sign as warning of a school zone, not as marking a playground zone.
- D. Watch for pedestrians — Although the sign tells drivers to watch for children, its stated meaning is a school-zone warning, not a general pedestrian warning.
Remember it
When you see the school-zone sign, think of children near the road and slow down.
