Answer: A. 16
In Ontario, a resident must be at least 16 years old and have a valid Ontario driver's licence to drive in the province.
Why this is the answer
The handbook's requirements for Ontario residents say a resident must be at least 16 and must hold a valid Ontario driver's licence. The graduated licensing section also says a person applying for a first licence must be at least 16. That makes 16 the minimum age in the question, paired with the requirement for a valid Ontario licence. The other ages listed are lower than the minimum the handbook states, so they do not meet the age condition.
Why the other answers are wrong
- B. 13 — Thirteen is below the minimum age the handbook gives for Ontario residents.
- C. 14 — Fourteen is below the minimum age the handbook gives for Ontario residents.
- D. 15 — Fifteen is below the minimum age the handbook gives for Ontario residents.
Remember it
Link the age to the licence: Ontario starts residents at 16, not younger.
